Happy Valentine’s Day!
Today is the perfect day to ask yourself, what is my definition of love? If you asked me this eight years ago when I first fell in love my answer would have been different than my answer today, however I have learned many lessons the past eight years. I’ve learned communication is key in any relationship, as well as, quality time, and making your spouse a top priority. Romantic relationships and marriages are not the product of each of you giving fifty percent. Both parties must give one hundred percent. Most importantly, love is a physical task, not a simple emotion.
Love is a verb, not a noun
My blog today is written by Jeremy and Audrey Roloff from Beating 50 Percent. Take a look at their thoughts revolving around the biblical meaning of love. I couldn’t agree more!
What is Beating 50 Percent?
It’s the beginning of a new year, which means its time to shop for a brand new, freshly printed, unmarked devotional. How exciting!
There are too many different devotionals on the market. How do you pick one? It depends on what you’re looking for. What are your specific needs? I’ve listed a few things to search for when shopping for the perfect devotional.
Make it a year to remember!
You can put together this simple, quick, and easy memory jar in just three steps!
Another goal of mine this year is to read more, a lot more. I find it hard to believe (okay, maybe not) I used to hate reading, but the only reading I ever did was for school, stories I had no choice over weather I wanted to read them or not. It wasn’t until my junior of high school I began reading novels I was actually interested in. Ever since then, I’ve found reading to be rather enjoyable and much more relaxing than ever before.
I’ve been slacking off on my book reviews the past couple of months. I need to pick up the pace. Take a look at the novels on my list this year:
I purchased this book at least four months ago, but I never took the time to open it and really dive in. After a massive wake up call a few weeks ago, with my life spiraling out of control, I decided it was time to pick it up again, and I’m extremely grateful I did! Wow, Priscilla writes exactly what I’m thinking and precisely what I need to hear. The enemy is against you, and it’s not who you think it is.
New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of today’s women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion, refocusing their identity, negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets, navigating impossible schedules, succeeding against temptation, weathering their worst fears, uprooting bitterness, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis.
We could all use a bit more structure in our lives. One of my words for this year is structure. I’m determined to live better and think better with the help of a daily planner. I’m actually surprised I haven’t used one in the past. I’ve always been such an organizer!
I recently discovered a fun, new way to keep track of daily living. Instead of writing boring tasks in a boring weekly planner, why not make it enjoyable? There are planners available today in all different brand names, colors, designs, and sizes. I’m positive you’ll be able to find one to fit your specific needs. Now, the fun part! Shop your local craft stores where you can find oodles of stickers and stamps created especially for planners.
This is the first year I’ve ever used a planner. I really don’t have a super busy life, but I do have a lot of medical needs that need to be remembered, and honestly I sometimes forget. From RX refills, to monthly lab work, to mail-ordering medical supplies, and tons of appointments to schedule and remember. At the end of the day I have no idea how I do it all.
So, which planner have I chosen? My planner is actually only available from Faithbox, a monthly subscription service. When I opened my December box, I planned on giving the planner away at first glance, but then I realized it was a sign. I was the one who really needed it! I added some personality to my planner by applying a matching gold sticker and feather tassel charm.
